With over 25 years of experience in luxury hospitality and sustainable tourism development across Indonesia, Pak Budi’s vision is to showcase Indonesia’s hidden gems like Halmahera while upholding the highest standards of environmental stewardship and community engagement. Credentials: Bachelor of Tourism Management (STP Nusa Dua Bali), SSI Advanced Open Water Diver, Certified First Aid & CPR Instructor, ISO 9001 Internal Auditor.
Bio: Ibu Kartika brings over 15 years of experience in high-end resort and liveaboard operations across Raja Ampat and Komodo. Her meticulous attention to detail ensures seamless logistics, from airport transfers (often coordinating with Garuda Indonesia and AirNav Indonesia for flight schedules) to onboard services. Ibu Kartika is responsible for maintaining our stringent safety protocols and ensuring every aspect of the guest journey exceeds expectations. She is a firm believer in the Halmahera Diving Methodology for evaluating partner services. -
Dr. Rizal Malik – Lead Marine Biologist & Dive Master
Role: Head of Dive Operations & Conservation Programs
Credentials: PhD in Marine Biology (Bogor Agricultural University – IPB), PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT), DAN Oxygen Provider & First Aid Instructor, Certified Coral Reef Restoration Specialist.
Bio: Dr. Rizal is not only an exceptional dive master but also a respected marine scientist with extensive research experience in the Coral Triangle, particularly Weda Bay. Credentials: Indonesian Class III Master Mariner Certificate (ANT III), STCW Certified, Advanced Fire Fighting & Medical First Aid at Sea, over 20 years experience navigating Indonesian waters.
Bio: Captain Rahmat is a seasoned mariner with an impeccable safety record. His extensive experience navigating the challenging and beautiful waters of North Maluku ensures our liveaboards operate with the utmost safety and precision. He is fully compliant with all Indonesian maritime regulations from the Ministry of Transportation (Kementerian Perhubungan) and maintains rigorous vessel maintenance schedules.
